HAND FAN BAKED POTATO



This week I have so much things to do even no time to writting about foods recipes on my Blog. When I open my Blog I feel doesn't want to write anything, especially during night while everybody already sleep and I just back home. Anyway, normally after arrived home, I take shower, checking phone and of course open my laptop for few minutes than I this week, don't know what happened, after 5 minutes writing, my eyes couldn't cooperative very well. BUT MY MOTIVATIONS TO ALWAYS SHARE FOOD RECIPES WITH YOU BEAT MY WEARY

Today is Saturday at 22:40 pm in Australia. Finally I have relaxing time after busy week. And now with red wine on my hand and laptop on my lap, I would like to share you about my bakes potato that I cooked today. The name is HAND FAN BAKED POTATO, accompany with Salad and Steak.

I'm sure you never heard about that kind of baked potato but probably you saw them a lot in internet. I named it the potato and marinated them with my own recipes. If you interesting to know, let's keep scroll down. 

Anyway, I really explain everything in EASY ENGLISH LANGUAGE. Nothing so fancy with my English, as long as you understand about what I trying to explain, should be fine as English language isn't my main language. 


PREPARATION TIMES: 5 minutes
COOKING TIMES: 60 minutes
TOTAL TIMES: 65 minutes
SERVING: 2 persons


MAIN INGREDIENTS
  • 626g Russet potatoes
SEASONING THE POTATOES
  • 2 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon Italian powder
  • 1 Teaspoon capsicum powder
GARNISH
  • 1 Tablespoon Parmigianno Reggiano
 
HOW TO CHOOSE POTATO
Why I using Russet potato? Because this type is large and perfect for baking and fries. Russet potato have russet colour and mild, soft flavour. Therefore I put a lot salt to make the meat tasty.

HOW TO WASH THE POTATO
Before cook them, I need to wash them until they clean. To wash them you should use cold water from tap. Than clean them with your own hand, dish brush (make sure its new) so potato not get or using dish washing gloves. 

Never clean potatoes in hot/warm water otherwise outside skin cooked but not inside. So make sure you want your potatoes coke in the same time inside and outside. 


HOW TO MAKE LAYERS SHAPE ON POTATO.
Than after potatoes clean, place them into medium bowl and pour cold water for few minutes. Than cut them to layers shape using medium sharp knife. For Hand Fan baked potato, you only need to do 50% layering and 50% on the original shape.  
 

HOW TO MARINATED THE POTATOES
After finish with layering. The rest massage them with melted butter and olive oil and add salt, black pepper also Italian dressing. 

SECOND ROUND
After 30 minutes, take off them from the oven and add extra salt, black pepper and Italian herbs. Place them back to the oven and cook for another 30 minutes

After 30 minutes, here you go. Hand fan potato baked ready to serve.

INSTRUCTIONS
  • Heat oven to 220℃
  • While waiting oven turn to hot, I jump to wash potatoes and make layers.
  • 1/8 inch/layers
  • After that, melt butter and mix them with olive oil
  • After layering done, mix them with butter and olive oil and add salt than black pepper.
  • And place them to oven for 30 minutes
  • After 30 minutes, add more salt and olive oil on the top of potato than cook them for another 30 minutes
  • After 60 minutes, finally HAND BAKED POTATO ready to serve.
  • Potato very filling so its good to eat by itself with some dressing sauce or with Salad and Steak.

TIPS


  • Choose russet potatoes very beneficial especially for baking.
  • Never use warm water when washing potatoes otherwise it cooked outside but not inside. 
  • Buy potatoes in traditional supermarket, because you will get cheaper price and for 5Kg russet potatoes normally only cost AUD $5.
  • Potato very filling, so you can change rice, bread or noodle with potatoes and some side dish like Beef and salad. 
  • Russet potatoes have creamy tase and soft so you need to put at least 2 tablespoon salt to make them tasty.
